What Would Jesus Do?
Message 5 In a Series
Jesus Would Be Sinless
1 John 3:4-5
1 John 3:4-6
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither know him.
We cannot be saved by the law, in fact the law was never intended to sanctify or to save. It is through the law that we can recognize our sinful state. This verse reminds us that all of us are in the same boat, we have all sinned.
John described this sin as lawlessness.
What did Jesus do? What would he have us to do?
a. He came first to deal with sin.
a. He is there for when we fall, but that does not give us a license to sin.
b. He expects us to follow his example.
c. He expects us to be a sinless example to others.
